Museum of Lucerne, Switzerland (Lucerne Historical Museum)
The first version of the system was was installed back in 2003 - in collaboration with our partner - at the Lucerne Museum of History (Historical Museum Luzern, Switzerland). The system has been updated to a new version in 2009, providing significantly more services and full multimedia support. Old mobile devices has also been replaced by new, high color, high contrast touchscreen devices.
The system uses barcodes for identifying objects. The museum provides the mobile devices for the visitors at the entrance of the building. The implementation mainly focuses on providing object information, and guided tours, using self designed attractive mix of textual, photographic, audio and video content.
The museum assigned a unique barcode for all exhibited objects/arts, and put these barcodes on well designed, professional look boards, which haven been placed next to the object. Visitors read these barcodes using their devices, and related information to the particular object - detailed description, place of origin, value, restoration/conservation information, photos, audio, video clips, etc. - will appear on the device, helping the visitor to obtain more knowledge on the subject or object.
The museum uses GUIDO as a catalogueing system as well, making track of each object's life within the insitutuion. (Event log of restoration processes, landing or loaning history, warehous location and environmental data, etc.)
The technical realization uses wi-fi network at a small portion of the building - near the entrance & main hall area -, where visitors can download and upload data related to their activities (quiz scores, etc). Other than that, the data has been loaded on the devices, so it works mostly offline, not requiring to build network in all areas throughout the building.
Tiroli néprajzi múzeum, Ausztria (Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum Innsbruck)
A Tiroli néprajzi múzeum (Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum) 2009-ben vezette be a teljes multimédiás támogatást nyújtó új verzióját rendszerünknek.
A múzeum egy nagyszabású, átfogó technológiai, multimédiás fejlesztés keretében vezette be a GUIDO rendszert, mint egyik kulcs komponenst. A bevezetett rendszer 150 speciális mobil eszközzel áll a látogatók rendelkezésére, melyet a belépéskor kapnak kézhez.
A múzem a szokásos tárgy-infomáció szolgáltatáson kívül kihasználja a rendszer elekronikus tárlatvezetési, kvízjáték, illetve többnyelvű video-narrációs képességeit. Ez utóbbi a gyakorlatban azt jelenti, hogy a múzeum több, un. "showroom"-ot rendezett be, ahol nagy kijelzőkön folyamatosan filmanyagok kerülnek bemutatásra és a GUIDO rendszer szolgáltatja a futó filmanyaghoz a szinkronizált, többnyelvű narrációt. A múzeum füllhallgatót is biztosít az eszközökhöz, így a látogatók nem zavarják egymást az audio tartalmak hallgatása közben.
